Met Gaurava Yadav , 32, the Founder-CEO of School Quiz League a couple of days ago. A passionate Quiz-master who grew up in Jhansi and always wanted to to build a huge system of quizzes in small towns of the Hindi-belt, which were regular mostly in the metros in his school days . He set up a social network for CIOs in his last start-up in Delhi, and then went to set up base in Lucknow to go to tier-2 towns in UP and MP and hold quiz competitions , connecting to almost 750 schools , English Medium as of now across 16 cities last year . Gauravas dream is to include 5 more States this year. This means an addition of at least 25 more cities and 2000 more schools. SQL is working towards building India’s 1st Knowledge Network for schools. The event is only open to School students studying in 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th Standard. Imagine when he goes Hindi , there will be tens of thousands of schools ! The scale of India is mind-numbing ! By Knowledge Network , Gaurava wants to create a community of schools in the heartland who have many issues with creating interesting engagements for their students , give them exposure to visiting successful and creative professionals , getting teachers to know what are the best-practices , of student career counselling . Mostly services and events that happen in few elite schools in the metros. I tell you that there is no dearth of dreamers and doers in Tier-2 towns of India today. They can see what are the needs and are building real-on-the-ground networks along with virtual platforms . Gaurava says that the internet is not so great via the PC , and as mobile and smart-phones take over , one needs the mobile and the direct engagement . So local logistics across hundreds of small towns is the next frontier, for good quality educational training and event services . In my line of work, you see the pains, the passions , the failures , the trajectories of new generation of entrepreneurs . And I have realised that if you havent done your first start-up by 35 it will be very difficult after that. Then as they say here , you are settled . schoolquizleague/
