Monday-21 Jul 2014 Gina had a good day of therapy today. She was rested since there was little weekend activity. She walked well and a good distance. She was very social today as she was walking. She wanted to stop and talk to everyone in the hallway as well as people she would see as she passed rooms with open doors. She had to be guided to stay on-task and do as we all are having to do - keep walking. As she continues her journey, the baby steps are accumulating, albeit, slowly. Keep praying for Ginas stamina to build. Pray for her speech. There are many times she cannot get the words to come out in an intelligible manner. Pray, especially, for the removal of the trach. Everyone is of the opinion that this will be a major step forward as it will remove the source of distraction.
