More from “Garden of Relationships” All functional - TopicsExpress

More from “Garden of Relationships” All functional (practical, operational, working, healthy) relationships have what I will identify as Relationship Governing Principle(s). In most cases, the primary principle(s) has been verbalized and agreed upon. However, in some cases, there are one or two principles that while unspoken…are clearly understood between both individuals. For the sake of this discussion: Cheating –Acting contrary to an agreed upon principle governing conduct between two individuals involved in a relationship. Deception - Deliberately hiding the truth with the intent to deceive or mislead somebody to acquire, obtain, benefit, or for personal advantage. Unfaithful – Not true to the original established governing principle or underlying assumption (We are together, exclusively) So, for those of us who need a way to gauge if we are in violation of our Relationship Governing Principle(s), try asking yourself the following questions; Would my partner, husband, wife, significant other approve of: 1. Where you go with another person 2. What you say or how you converse with another person 3. What you do with or in the presence of the another person If your answer is NO to any one of these questions, you may be violating one or more of the Governing Principles of your relationship…. Any thoughts or comments?
