My darling lex well today is the big day. Looking back over your journey the people we met some at your fundraisers along the way all supporting you in our challenge to beat neuroblastoma. The battle was constant and exhausting. Over 3yrs for a child of 4yrs to have to deal with what you did is apalling. Your little body taking operation after operation, needle after needle. You were so brave my darling. I remember this time 2 yrs ago we were in isolation for 5 wks. It was hard but we decorated the walls and you would get out of bed to colour in the pictures i had drawn. You were the first child to receive beads of courage at SCH. I remember one particular time we were both sobbing holding hands on your bed the pain and hope relentless. My fear was we would enter that room and not leave it as i had seen many times over the past few years with other families. But you fought on. You were the first Child of the Year in Scunthorpe what a proud day that was you constantly smiled throughout and had your best friend James by your side. So today when Olivia and I go back to SCH it will be mixed emotions. We havent been back since that fateful day in December when we were told that was the end. BUT we will be handing all the money over family friends people we knew people we didnt but still were so kind and generous all wanting you to beat this deadly disease. If I could have given you my life I would have you are not suppose to outlive your children especially ones who have to deal with what you did. So when we get to Hospital my heart will be bursting with pride knowing how many people loved you just like us. Love you up to the moon around the stars and back again mommy xxx
