My dear friend Deepak Jha living and working in Singapore has taken the following pledge 1. Permanently switch off notification features of all my smartphone apps. This will eliminate the urgent and let me focus only on what is genuinely important at the present moment 2. Never to take my phone into a meeting. By paying total attention to my fellow participants, I will not only increase my own productivity but also show respect to others time and acknowledge their presence 3. Every three months, I will observe 15 days of zero social media engagement, completely devoid of FB, Twitter, IM and the likes. This is based on my confidence that anything worth my attention and care will somehow always find a way back to me and will show up in future I fully endorse and support this very original initiative He follows up his pledge with the following Pledge #1 & 2 are on effective immediately. Starting end of October, I will be spending 15 days of near-hermit life at an Ayurveda & Meditation centre nestled amid the sandalwood forest of Mysore. That would be my time to initiate pledge #3 . And there onwards, I wish to do so many times over, year after year ..
