NIC UPDATE. Good Morning FaceBook Family and Friends. I am writing this brief update so that you may better pray for our situation. Late last Thursday night Nic went into cardiac arrest due to medication mismanagement, and was without oxygen for about 15 minutes. The paramedics and ER were able to resuscitate him and he is stabilized and breathing with ventilator assistance. He has shown no cerebral brain activity or response since then. The SUPERB (understatement) ICU staff at Oregon Health and Science University are treating him as both a cardiac and stroke patient and handling the various symptoms accordingly, in what one doctor described as a Full-Court Press effort so that every Hope and opportunity is pursued. A neurological team will again assess him today - Sunday - at about 4:00pm, after which we will meet with the appropriate health professionals to determine our next steps. Medically, the expected prognosis and outcome is very poor. SPIRITUALLY, our Hope is in Jesus - the Great Physician, His Healing Holy Spirit, and Our - and Nics - Heavenly Father to bring about the Miracle that Nic needs. Your prayers and support are Coveted, Deeply Appreciated, and felt by us all! Please forgive me for not replying to all of your posts, simply too many - a GREAT problem to have - but I will post something this evening.
