New bird diverters are being installed near Pincher Creek to help ducks and geese navigate around transmission lines. From the article: “Water fowl tend to fly a little lower in heavy winds and they prefer not to fly in heavy fog but sometimes they get caught in those situations,” says Perry McCormick, with Ducks Unlimited. And though deflectors will help birds navigate the lines, there are other options to protect our feathered friends. “Alternatively you may consider moving the lines or potentially burry the lines,” says McCormick. #abwater #waterfowl
