#News :Dr. Fasil Nahum meets the State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Sweden Dr. Fasil Nahum, Special advisor to the Prime Minister with the rank of Minister, held talks with Mr. Frank Belfrage, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Sweden on Thursday last week (July 17) in Stockholm. Dr. Fasil briefed Mr. Belfrage about Ethiopias economic growth, the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals, the process of democratization and the forthcoming election in Ethiopia as well as current developments in the region. He also noted that Ethiopias participation in United Nations Secretary Generals initiative on United Nations Alliance of Civilization. He applauded Ethiopias long historical relations with Sweden and underlined the great importance Ethiopia attaches to its relations with Sweden. Mr. Belfrage commended Ethiopias economic success and welcomed Ethiopias leading role in climate change negotiations. He also appreciated Ethiopias efforts to help bring peace and stability to South Sudan, Somalia and in the region in general. During his stay in Sweden, Dr. Fasil Nahum also had discussions with the Deputy Director of the Stockholm International Water Institute and with others at the Institute and the Nordic Africa Institute in Uppsala.
