Nominate a student for the SLYCE03 class starting in January 2015! Candidates should be students in 10th or 11th grade who have great potential to become future leaders in our communities. These exceptional youth must be actively involved beyond the classroom, but are not necessarily in “high profile” leadership positions. We are looking for those who may have limited opportunities and resources to cultivate their leadership ability. Now in its third year, our first two classes SLYCE01 and 02 were huge successes and the SLYCE program has proven to be an experience of a lifetime for our youth participants. The curriculum is focused on three themes of sustainability: equity, economy and environment. Students will learn how to work in teams, use of effective strategies, address community issues, practice tolerance and respect, guide the change process, resolve conflict, express views productively, build relationships with others, and practice leadership etiquette.
