O.B. Boyd 1950 - 2014 It is with heavy heart that we pass along the news of the passing of O.B. (Oscar Berry) Boyd on Tuesday, November 18, 2014. O.B. worked as an Engineering Aide for the Hughes County Conservation District from 1986 to 1998, before starting with the Holdenville Field Office of the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) where he has been employed for the last 15 years as the Soil Conservation Technician. O.B. is well known to many people not only here in Hughes County but across the state as well. O.B. grew up here in Holdenville, where he raised two sons Robert and Darrel Boyd. He graduated from Holdenville High School in 1968He was married to Sandee Boyd and has two stepdaughters with her Patty and Dani. He had 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was a member of the Texas Banner Church of God in Horntown. O.B. was 64 years old when he passed away. And during that time, he touched many lives. He worked a variety of jobs over the years from oilfield to conservation. He was strong willed and straightforward. He was a plainspoken man who tried every day to make a difference to the people around him. He provided technical and engineering assistance to many landowners over the years and even helped teach students to fish at the district’s fishing clinic.
