OH MY! A champion of animal welfare in rural south Alabama is running for election: District 90 (Butler, Conecuh and Crenshaw Counties) Walton Hickman—ENDORSED BY AVRAL. Understands importance of programs and policies for companion animal welfare. Is painfully aware of the plight of companion animals in rural districts like District 90. States that low-cost veterinary services are essential for rural Alabamians. Believes that Alabamas overpopulation problems lead to abuse, neglect, and death of our companion animals. As an attorney, has prosecuted animal cruelty cases and knows how challenging they can be, states that enforcement of existing cruelty laws is not sufficient. Owns several dogs and also has a hamster named HaHa. Hickman is disturbed by Alabamas animal welfare issues and will work with AVRAL to address them. Definitely need Hickman representing District 90.
