Oct. 27 Daily Announcements: Fall Play Shirts -- An Order Form for Shirts to support the Fall Play is attached. Orders need to be in to the Columbus office by Mon Oct. 27. - This year Columbus will be performing Charlie and Chocolate Factory on Nov. 15 and 16. Great job by our Cross Country runners last Thursday: --The boys varsity finished 6th out of 15 teams. -- Lucas Kern gutted his way to the state meet Sat. at Fort Dodge with an 8th place finish out of 100 competitors. The top 10 make the All-Regional Team and earn the right to compete at the state meet. The top 3 teams also qualify for Saturdays meet. Jake Nemmers had a season and personal best performance with an 18th place finish making the coaches All-Regional 2nd team. --The girls team finished 8th out of 14 teams. Mary Funk ran a new personal best time and finished in 17th place making the coaches All-Regional 2nd. team. She was followed closely by Tiffani Boyds new personal best time and a 22nd place finish out of 87 competitors. Kyndall Roberts ran another personal best time for 37th. Lauren Dunlay contributed her seasons best time for the cause, Francesca Roche had a new personal best time and Nicole Gray just missed her personal best time by a few seconds. This was the highest regional meet finish for the Sailor ladies since 2007 and a seasons best performance. Congratulations to all who ran on Thursdays wet and difficult course!!! Good luck to the Volleyball Team tonight: -- The team plays in Parkersburg against AP tonight at 7pm in Round 1 of Regionals. Out of Uniform Day for SENIORS on Tuesday: - The Seniors will have a FREE out of uniform day on Tuesday. This is from their Victory in the Homecoming Video Contest. - This does mean that regular Dress Code guidelines in regards to jewelary and facial hair are still in effect. - Out of Uniform Dress Code Guidelines include: No inappropriate shirts and no short shorts. NHS Blood Drive on Friday Oct. 31 --The Columbus chapter of the National Honor Society is sponsoring a Red Cross Blood Drive on Friday, October 31 from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. in the High School Gym. Our goal is to have at least 50 donors registered. If you have not given blood before, see Mrs. Ney for a packet of information. If you are 16, you must have consent from a parent/guardian. Pass the word to parents and neighbors about the blood drive. Updates from Sailor Stuff: *Bling apparel ordering has been extended to October 31st! Thank you to everyone who ordered in the first round of Bling orders. Book Collection box in the Main Office **The Cedar Valley Youth Action Council has recently started a literacy campaign. We are planning to collect gently used books and then donate them to local children’s organizations where we will be working with kids to teach them the value of reading and education. To collect the books we are placing donation boxes in businesses, organizations, and schools around the Cedar Valley. See Melanie Erazio White if you have any questions. CAMPUS MINISTRY: --Kairos registrations are due Wednesday! Juniors get your registrations in ASAP to Mr. Larsen. --Students, dont forget to fill out the Mass of Remembrance form of you lost a relative between October 1, 2013 to October 10, 2014. The form will be deactivated on Friday at the end of the school day and no names will be accepted after.
