Ok, I have to rant on this. Ive let it slide for a few days now already. On The Voice - when the singers, along with a choir, did a rendition of Will the Circle Be Unbroken. I have two things. Lets start with number 2. They changed it up a little much. This is an old classic gospel song that almost everyone knows and I wasnt happy with what they were doing with it. However, that is my opinion and is subject to debate. As far as I am concerned with the number one issue, it is NOT up for debate. They took Lord out of the song. Now, here goes. If you dont believe in God, or you believe in a different God, or you feel threatened by Christians, etc, that is all fine. But when YOU make a decision to sing a GOSPEL song, a very well established, well known, traditional gospel song, you do NOT take references to God out of it. If they offend your precious feelings, go write your own song. If you take it out because you are bending over backwards to try and please everyone out there, you better straighten back up cause you went too far and your head is completely up your behind. God knows I am not an overly religious person, but I do believe in God and I get so irritated with the way Christians are being pushed around. You would never DARE to change the wording of a Muslim song, a Jewish song, lest you be immediately proclaimed a racist, bigot, or some other horrendous name. This time no one crossed a line, no one made you feel inferior, no one pressured you with religion, no one did a thing to YOU. YOU CHOSE to sing this song, then sing it the way it was meant and written to be sung and quit ruining my day.
