Ok liberal, tree hugging hypocritical dumbasses, let me break this down for you. I am actually surprised that this isn’t obvious but here goes. When you enact retarded (no offense meant to the actual special needs people out there) rules, legislation, taxation, etc., especially onerous and expensive regulations, to control pollution, it drives production overseas where the controls on such things are essentially non-existent. This brings costs back down for the manufacturer and drives pollution up, natch. In fact, approximately 1/3 of the pollution in San Francisco and LA comes from China, or so I read, in the WSJ I believe. So, how bout this for a solution. First, sit down and shut up if you are an actor or some rich guy who won’t be harmed by the nonsense you promote, you have no credibility. Then, since we have some of the best pollution controls in the world already, roll back some of the more expensive and ridiculous regulations that are out there now, drill baby drill and stop shipping oil from countries who want to kill us, on big assed ships (those things run on engines and not happy thoughts, you know) and, finally, lower the corporate tax rate to bring those jobs back here where we can employ people and, as an added bonus, use existing controls to limit pollution. Or you can just continue to be ignorant, arrogant, smug jackasses who believe that your Prius makes you a better person.
