Overcomers Through Christ Many are the afflictions are the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. We are overcomers through Christ because we are the seed of Christ. A seed is the reproduction of the original. The apple’s seed will accomplish the same thing that Apple accomplished in which it was taken from. Jesus was an overcomer and we are overcomers through Him. As seeds of Christ we have the ability to do everything that Christ did. Jesus tells us in His word; “ These things I have spoken to you, that in me you might have peace, in the world you shall have tribulation, trouble; But be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” Jesus is an overcomer and we, the Church, His Body, are overcomers. We are told in the Revelation; “ To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with Me in My throne, even as I overcame, and am set down with My Father in His throne.” We have to overcome the affliction and the obstacles that comes in this life. If we would go into the word of God and take a look at the Israelites we can get a better picture of what it means to be an overcomer, for our lives parallel their lives. There are three stages to the lives of the Israelites. The first stage is Egypt. We all start out in Egypt. For the Saints Egypt represents the world. But even in Egypt I was chosen of God, and He took care of me. God took care of the Israelites in Egypt, and He took care of me when I was in the world. Why? Ephesians 1:4 says;” According as He has chosen us in Christ before the foundation of the world.’ Even when I was in the world God took care of me, even though I did not know it. Because He knew that I was going to give my life to Him at an appointed time. The next stage of the Israelite life was, Wilderness. This represents infancy. In the wilderness they were an infant nation. For me this is the stage whereby I was a babe in Christ. In this stage Everything is provided for me. In the wilderness everything was provided, Manner, Quail, Water, everything. But in this stage we cannot own anything. Children don’t own anything. The next stage for the Israelites was the Promise Land. In my life this represents Maturity. This is the place where I receive the promises of God. This is the place where I partner with God and receive the promises of God. In the Promise Land the Manner cease to fall. In this stage I now live by faith. Also God left some obstacles in the land. Now I am required to become an overcomer. They had to overcome the Hittites, Jebusites, Amorites, Canaanites, and the Amalekites. The obstacles is what causes us to partner with God to receive the promises. We are overcomers through Christ. We are more that conquerors through Christ. The fact is, this land was already their’s because God had told Abraham that He was going to give this land to his seed after him, driving out the Hittites and the Canaanites and all the rest of the ites. But in order to posses it they had to set their foot in the land. The first generation of Israelites refused to set their foot in the land, they refused to be overcomers through God. He told Joshua that every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given you. They told Moses that ; “We were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight. “ they saw themselves as grasshoppers and so the enemy say them as grasshoppers. Satan sees you the way that you see yourself. If you see yourself as more that a conqueror, then Satan sees you in that same light. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. With God all things are possible. I am partnering with God to receive what He says I can posses. I have learned to allow the bible to dictate to me who I am in Christ Jesus. The bible tells me in 1 John 2:13 “ I write to you young men, because you have overcome the wicket one. The bible says that I have demonstrated that I am a overcomer. The fact that I am born again proves that I overcame that wicket one, Satan. If you are born again, you have one victory under your belt. Step out of fear and self and posses the promises of God. After all, all the Promises in the book are yes and Amen....
