Patna Stampede: This type of incident clearly indicates that there must be major overhaul in the planning and justice delivery system especially w.r.t. socio-economic & regional development. Government (State and Center) must ponder upon the reason behind these kind of unjust happenings.. We always put the onus on the Prashashan and just offer some monetary benefits ...n thn no follow-up of the reasons leading tragic conditions... Its the high time that Govt must take urgent steps to prevent the disaster like this.. Some of the major factors responsible for these kind of unfortunate happenings (in my view) as under: 1. Prevailing bad conditions of socio-economic indicaators viz. Civic sense, literacy, poverty, unemployment, etc. 2. Regional imbalances in the devpt. or we can say skewed developmet. 3. Unplanned growth of the region (population, buildings, industry, markets) without any value addition on the resource front (Roads, water resources, Waste management). We can easily observe that How the growth of the city like Patna has followed during last 10-15 years regime.. Is this the sustainable pace?? Are the civic amenities and administration ready to cater this unprecedented haphazardly growing demography of the region..... Is there any planned sateliate city which can absorb the additional growth??? Is there any proper plan of new city/ region development in the state and if so, what r the factors stopping in the implementation???? For that matter, why this Patna attracting huge intra-state migrants ???? What kind of ameninities and the job ppl are in need of...... We must ponder upon.. planners have to take the cognizance of.... Why is the state not able to balance the growth in the entire region which could stop the further incoming of the populations and hence preventing the mishap like this.. Its been observed that state and central govt are not working in unison since last 15-20 years in the state of Bihar....( due to different politico-scenario)....... Its high time that center must act like big brother and state take it help in terms of finance, experience, models operating in other state/regions we as a citizen must raise the demand to save the demography from accidents like this along with upliftments of the socio-economic conditions..
