(Please dont read if youre sick of politics. Thanks!) Five and a half years ago we elected a man to be President who promised to run the most open administration in the history of the United States. He promised to transcend racial and party lines to heal the nations divisions. He promised to govern moderately. And a year and a half ago, we reelected him because he promised that he had ended terrorism, brought peace, lowered the price of fuel, healed the economy and fixed health care. And several of us believed him. Now his administration is refusing to work with congress and assuming unconstitutional powers, and it looks like the next thing he may try is to unilaterally offer de facto amnesty to five million illegal immigrants, without the will or input of congress. Many of these immigrants are children who should be at home with their own parents in their own countries. They are here because of signals from the administration. The behavior of the administration has become so erratic that some people are speculating the President might actually be trying to instigate an impeachment attempt in order to mobilize his base before the November mid-term elections. News outlets such as ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN would have a field day with such an attempt, painting it as racism by obstructionists.
