Pluijm to investigate BDF XI Yanga head coach, Hans Van Der Pluijm, is expected to send people to investigate the team’s opponents in the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup, Botswana’s BDF XI. Yanga and BDF XI will lock horns in the first leg’s encounter on the weekend of February 13 and 15 next year in Dar es Salaam, according to the fixture released by the continental soccer governing body. Pluijm said during his team’s training session at Boko Veterani ground in Dar es Salaam that he does fear any team in the tournament but he feels it is better he got all information on the Botswana outfit prior to facing it. I need to see the team (BDF XI)’s players prior to playing them. I will know how to go about preparing my squad for the match when I get information about them”, Pluijm said. He requested Yanga leadership to send people to get all details pertaining to BDF XI’s tactics used in different matches the team plays, apart from securing videos of the team’s matches. He said Yanga are ready for the tournament and they want to know all about their opponents so the former cn improve their tactics and confidently take on the latter. He said investigating his team’s opponents is a normal practice, adding that he had previously investigated Egypt’s soccer giants, Al Ahly, when Yanga were preparing to play the former in the last year’s CAF Champions League. Pluim said his team has also prepared well for the Mainland Premier League match against Azam FC and will give their all to secure the win. He said Yanga need to win the match and scale up the league’s standing. Morogoro’s Mtibwa Sugar are at the top of the standing with 15 points, with Yanga at the second position with 13 points. Yanga have set up training camp in Bagamoyo to prepare for the game against Azam, which will be played at the National Stadium in Dar es Salam on Sunday.
