Poetry Breathes on the Streets :-l (work in progress) The tough stuff, Dont come easy; Real life is Dealt in Blows; Back breaking, Tedious labor; The Oxen Ring In the Nose. Washing and cleaning All day now, Pen in the hand In the night, Dreaming of phrasing A life in An understanding Audience Sight. Some work on The night shift, And cant Sleep in the light, They finally Get it together, And then again It is night. Beauty and talent, Surely neglected, Pounds out a mile, Of unbridled style, That oh so many LIKE, Yet Wal-mart awaits Her Labors, And she must Pedal there, Upon her Trusty bike. A life of toil Awaits the Poet, As surely As there is a moon, And accolades And royalties, Are a surly Rude allusion; There is No free ride, No Milk from The public teats, Just drudgery And Poetry, On these Mean Civilized Streets.
