Police have charged a man after an armed robbery of a store at Mt Druitt last week. About 12.40am (Friday 23 May 2014), a man entered the store at Dawson Mall, armed with a broken glass bottle. He threatened the male employee and demanded cash. A male customer pushed the man outside, where the offender struck the man with the bottle causing cuts to his wrist. The man fled the scene. The customer was treated by paramedics at the location. Police from Mount Druitt Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which was examined by forensic specialists About 4.45pm yesterday (Tuesday 27 May 2014), investigators attended a unit on Bougainville Road, Lethbridge Park, and arrested a 26-year-old man. He was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station and charged with robbery while armed with an offensive weapon and assault with intent to rob. The man was refused bail to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court today (Wednesday 28 May 2014).
