Pool Tip: Cue through the white ball (dont stab at it). If you poke at the white in a jab like motion where the cue tip doesnt travel any further than where the white ball was, then the white is unlikely to receive any top/bottom spin that you might be trying to impart. People who use this method must control how far the white travels by varying how hard they hit the white, which is a less reliable method. A much better way to strike the white is to push through the white where the tip of the cue stops beyond where the white was. The further you push through the white the more spin you will impart on the white and the further the white will travel. Additionally this method is more reliable in that the same speed and same distance of follow through should result in the same distance the white travels; which gives you consistency and predictability allowing you to know where the white will stop once you get the hang of this. Try predicting where the white will stop and then execute the shot. Come practice this at Rack-em-up tonight!
