Pseudo-sciences can be dangerous. So can be also this science-fearing ideology against medicine. So also sometimes can be this overrated tolerance over other ways of thinking, like it would be sacrilege to tell somebody no, this is just wrong. and explaining why. There is a young girl in Ontario that will probably die of leukemia because her native american parents prefer their traditional medicine to chemo, and because a judge decided to respect their identity. That respect for their will to choose a pseudo-medicine over a scientifically tested one is clearly a result of that western guilt about the damage we did to native americans. If that young girl wasnt native american, her parents would be forced to consent to western medicine (i.e. medicine). Isnt that a stupid and tragic paradox in which, for respect for beliefs and culture, a young girl will probably die because she is native american? All approved by a Canadian judge?
