RANT TIME!! Strap in. I just cancelled my Sirius/XM Radio subscription after over 12yrs of having it in every vehicle Ive owned. Why? The firing of Anthony Cumia from the Opie and Anthony Show. Ant was fired after a string of profanity & insulting Tweets he posted after he was attacked in Times Square last week. While I think what he said was REALLY awful and dont agree with it, I will defend his right to say it. Thats the beauty of being an American. You are free to make an ass of yourself. The Klan does it, the Aryan Nation does it, the Black Panthers do it.....you get the picture. As long as you arent inciting violent action against a person or group, you SHOULD be able to run your mouth all day without consequence. (except looking stupid) Anthony is a shock jock. He gets paid millions to be rude. crude and offensive. If you dont like that kind of language, dont pay the $9.95/month to hear it or follow him on Twitter. Easy solution. I DO enjoy that dark, disturbing and sometimes offensive humour. Well I used to anyway. O&A were equal opportunity offenders. EVERYBODY got a verbal beating, starting with themselves. Sirius/XM has every right to fire whomever they employ for doing something awful on their clock. I get that. Anthony wasnt on the air!! It was his own time!! Hopefully they will be back in a Podcast format so they can excersize their 1st Amendment Rights. So to summarize....F-You SiriusXM!! You really shot yourself in the wallet this time. I hope you bleed to death.
