Re: Convention Center lights. The rainbow lights were not for Leelah. Convention Center General Manager Ric Booth told me they were set to rainbow mode for New Years Eve. The lights are not political in nature, he said. The convention center has gotten requests in the past to light the CINCINNATI sign for causes such as breast cancer. They are considered on a case by case basis, he said. The lights were gorgeous. I think Leelah would have loved them. And theres no reason not to have seen them and thought of Leelah. I did. But, as the city reporter, I checked. And the truth is, it was simply festive lighting.
