Real estatey legally typeset have a question.... Today I was coming in the house and the door slammed because of the wind. I was holding it, but because there is no interior door handle, it slammed anyway. The glass shattered and there are sharp shards hanging off it. I contacted our real estate to have it fixed and they told me that it was not their responsibility and we would have to fix it at our own cost. So my questions 1. I believed that a rental property had to have a non shattering glass (very glad it happened to me and not Archie) and this glass was not legal? 2. I would have thought that since this was not through any fault of the tenants (me, Archie an Sarah) it was their responsibility? 3. Since this is a safety risk (the glass is coming off due to the wind and Archie has to walk past it to go to his room) and also a security risk it would be something they should urgently fix? Can anyone point me towards any info to help here????
