My youngest just helped me with an inventory for my first exhibition with Naomi Goldlight at Robyn Bauer Gallery April 2013 The stats for the exhibition pieces are: Sold 5, gifted 1, on permanent commercial display 1, withdrawn from sale 3. I think thats OK for a first effort? The questions Im most often asked are: 1.How long did it take you to paint that? (For this read ...If it took you a long time I will value it more) Answer - I dont agree with this. Stunning work can be done quickly sometimes that doesnt make it more or less valuable 2. Where did you train? Answer - In the lounge room. 3. How can get my artwork to sell like yours? Answer - I value my work. My mother bought a piece after several friends and relatives remarked that I was doing well and asked if she had any they could look at - she was ashamed to have none at the time. I would be very wealthy now if I had a dollar for every person who has said to me I think I should buy some of your work now before you get famous. Trent often interjects with or die at this point.
