SON ( The Sun)...headlines today, SEKSVARK MAAK KIND MA If I was a so called Cape colored I would have been offended, never mind buy a newspaper whos editor by implication suggest that by reading it, I can relate to the vocabulary of a warthog with a cleft palate. I think it an insult to the Cape community to assume that the majority of their readers necessarily approve of being spoken to in such a common manner, even though there may be a minority to whom it may be acceptable, simply due to their lack of proper education, resulting in poor communication skills. It is no different me addressing a professional (for example an attorney in the colored community) and suggesting, kyk hie my broe, smaak djy van n huis te koep. Will he be offended? I think so as it is labeling after all and as a proper vocabulary is closely related to a persons IQ, necessarily an insult.
