Saturday 20th September is when we return to Oxford Castle. Limited spaces now remaining. £65 per person. Oxford Castle in our eyes is like A nightmare on Elms Street. This castle is said to be in with the top 10 of most haunted locations, and some say its number 1. Poltergeist, Witches, Sacrifice, Gaol, Execution and Sacrifices is some of the things that have happened here. This castle is beautiful in the daytime, but at night it is simply terrifying!! It has an extremely dark and horrible history, the most remarkable story is when a group of inmates held a seance in one of the cells sparking poltergeist activity, which resulted in a exorcism being performed. There is a an ongoing legend of the Oxford Castle Curse which people have described as the Black Assize of 1577, when a curse was placed on the Court, The Jury and the City by Rowland Jenke after his ears were cut. Within the space of a few weeks hundreds of people died mysteriously. Human remains were discovered here within the Well Chamber which dates back to around the 16th Century. Ghostly footsteps, loud bangs, whispering, cell doors slamming, screams and stones being thrown is just some of the paranormal reported here! The site has been used as a place of incarceration since 1071, continuing until the closure of HM Prison in 1996.
