Saw DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES last night with my sons Jason James and Josh James! This movie is the rare sequel that easily eclipses its predecessor. A cinematic triumph that was stunningly executed and visually compelling. This movie is a dystopian morality play that implicitly explores the issue of class (and race) as well as the nature of leadership through both anthropological and sociological lenses. Yet the film manages to be oddly uplifting with its simian protagonist (Caesar) at the center of the storyline. I suppose that who you cheer for in this movie is a Rorshach Test that reveals fundamental aspects of your personality and life outlook. Im not afraid to admit that Im ALWAYS down wit da monkees ... A MUST SEE!
