She got pregnant before she entered the convent. I am not sure at what point in the journey the vow of chastity is taken, but I am pretty sure there is a process before one enters the convent where this vow has already been made. If so, she sadly cheated on Christ, her spouse. I hope that is not the case. A year or so ago, another nun was found out when she went into labor. She said she felt no shame when acknowledging to cheating on her vows. She has since left the convent and is raising her son who is named after the pope. The babies are a gift from God, but such gifts deserve to be brought up in a family environment with a father. Hopefully, these women can reconcile their actions with God and bring their children up in a family. It is so important for young women and men to really decipher the call. If ones heart and mind are not at peace, their actions will reflect the turbulence within. The vocation into religious life is a gift from God, but like any gift, it can be squandered. Pray hard for those who are contemplating vocations and those wannabe accepted the call of the Lord.
