She would be accused of timing her scoop on political points every time for the past years, until now. Of course without the online media, her work and foresight would hidden from public view. (And I must also say her political strategy works, and shows her astuteness and steadfastness in politics.) And then again I still hear people saying they would migrate if PAP is overturned, totally cant trust opposition politicians.. Its amazing people has so much inertia to change, choosing rather to be stuck on a sinking sampan steered by clueless people suddenly faced with the unusually rough seas, than to discard the boat and swim to the nearby shore, where theres new wood to build a new boat. Those who insist in the low calibre of non-white politicians must be a true success story of the propaganda machinery known as the Straits Times. Its laughable to know that their minds are so handicapped and mental block/bias is so advanced that arguments applied against opposition politicians is 180 degrees reversed when these people are faced with the sudden and shocking revelation that thats a PAP view. Or perhaps those who prefer the status quo are rich and successful enough to still enjoy a relatively comfortable lifestyle, never mind what happens to the rest of the country and the political bickering. But dun be mistaken. Im not supporting Workers Party, as we a know for sure the natural cyclic developments of political parties the world over. Im supporting Singapore and have a vision for our own future. If only Singaporeans hv the pluck of Taiwanese students. Although their actions are debatable, their spirit is formidable. And herein reveals the lack of touch of their politicians with their people. And back in Singapore, in a catch-22 situation, our ruling politicians, through various social engineering means and the infamous money mechanism, suppress the natural voices of Singaporeans, so much so they hv lost touch with the exact sentiments of Singaporeans and fumble when we recently react out of norm. Singaporeans, whose characters are conservative, non-confrontational, hardworking, easily contented, trusting, hv now been pushed to a corner when our environment and lifestyle experience drastic degradation against a backdrop of sentiments of social injustice propagated by the govt. Its not helping when the govt repeatedly reveals its inadequacies in understanding the ground dynamics brought about by their own policies and tackling them competently. When a quiet lot starts to speak up en masse and loud, you know the trust is broken and no amount of good words or goodies could patch it up. Im sure our politicians do not know us well enough to sense this?
