So after a conversation with my producer last night and seeing the responses to a BMI licensing lawsuit today, I feel like I need to say this, realizing that it is an unpopular belief that I hold: people, you need to pay for the music you listen to. While this thing has almost no physical presence anymore, just like its floating about in the ether, freely hitting your ears, it is still a thing that hard working people put in thousands of dollars and hundreds of man hours to create and bring to you, the listener, who in turn gets (whatever feeling you get) from enjoying said music... The fact that even the Kinfolks music is available to be pirated is appalling to me... Keep the bands you love afloat. Be a big spender and shell out that 99 cents you cheap bastard. For everyone who has ever been to a show and bought a cd, downloaded us on iTunes (or its counterparts) or even streamed us on Spotify (we get paid from that!) I thank you and this message doesnt apply. You wouldnt steal a car. You wouldnt steal a purse. Piracy is a crime. Disagree? Lets discuss.
