TRIALS & TRAILS OF A GUN WRITER: So, several years ago, I am writing a column all about Tom Horn. I had just gotten a new reference book that included much of the actual transcripts from Horns trial. So Im checking my information and come across a reference to Tom Horn using a Model 1894 Winchester rifle, in .30/30. What? BS!!! Everyone knows that Tom Horn used an 1876 big-bore Winchester rifle. I spent most of the day checking various reference books before the reality hit me.........Tom Horn used a Mod. 94, in .30/30..........Steve McQueen used a Mod. 1876 big-bore! Damn movies!!!
