Tessa is a 2 year old Azteca filly. An Azteca horse is part Quarter Horse, part Andalusian and part Criollo. They are known to have smooth and elevated gaits. Tessa has inherited the lateral gait that is common in the Criollo horse. At liberty on her pasture she frequently showed this gait. You can see that she moves the legs on the same side of her body forward at the same time in several of the photos. She is a quick, and agile horse. Shes not my horse. I was hired to take sales photos of her, and had to hold on to my own wallet very tightly - this girl is a keeper. She doesn’t have papers, but her gaits, conformation, and charisma speak for themselves. At age two she is 15+ hh. Her dam is 16.2 hh, and her sire 17hh. Tessa is a magnificent girl! Azteca horses excel working with cattle, as top notch endurance horses, and in classical dressage. The breed is known to be easy to train. Tessa is halter broke, ties, bathes, trailers, and choose to be we people above anything else. It was almost difficult to take the photos, because she was such an in your pocket horse.
