Thanks Martha Busko.... I really agree with this. I see families working very hard, playing by the rules, trying very very hard. Do people not realize that more people who prosper (a stronger middle class) will be good for small business and for the economy generally? Because if worker EARN MORE, they will spend more. Is that hard to understand? Call it Demand Side., Call it the macro-economic principle, call it whatever you want, Keynesian or whatever. Politicians say they need to find a market for American goods. Well heres a thought for you. PAY YOUR WORKERS well enough they can survive, and have a little extra to buy stuff. It is the middle class that is the hope for local economies and small business. Without a flourishing middle class, achieving prosperity is going to be very very difficult. So that means prepare your workers, train your youth, invest in schools, and ... (one more thing) PAY YOUR WORKERS a decent wage.
