The government shutdown may be over, but don’t expect any relief - TopicsExpress

The government shutdown may be over, but don’t expect any relief from the partisan battles out of Washington. Before the deal had even been struck, President Obama announced that the day after the shutdown ended, he planned to start pushing for a vote on immigration reform, one of the most divisive issues in America. The Senate already passed a bill, but before the shutdown over Obamcare derailed the schedule, they were having trouble getting Republicans in the House to support what they say as rewarding people for breaking the law. Somehow, I doubt that three weeks of refusing to negotiate with them while calling them terrorists, arsonists and hostage-takers has really put them into a cooperative frame of mind. See, politics is like marriage: you’d better be careful what you say to the other person. They’ll remember it long after today’s fight is over.
