The last couple of months has been quite the whirlwind! At times quite a drudgery and at other times exhilarating? Reuniting with old friends and meeting new citizens has been very rewarding. There is no way to thank all the people involved in this campaign because of the team effort of our Town Council and people who supported each of us pulling together to support all of us. One thing that is apparent to me is that on both sides of the campaign, a common ground is there. I believe that all of us basically want the same thing, but may have different ideas on how to get there. Pulling together and healing sore feelings is already underway! I have great faith in the leadership capabilities of OUR Mayor Mary Esther Reed, Vice-Mayor Marc Adkins, re-elected councilman Rick Wise, newly elected councilwoman Lori North, Tim Morrell, and Paul Johns. We are ready, willing and able to serve our community. As some of you have heard me say... The events in our community today give this council the opportunity to make decisions which will affect our future for a very long time. I believe the right people are in place to make the right decisions and am very excited to be involved! I want to give a message of thanks to Lance Lee, who served our Town for the last ten years,has been a very effective councilman, and was always approachable and sincere! So as we go forward, lets all pull together! All decisions we make will not be popular with everyone, but please believe that they will be well thought out and in the best interest of the Town as a whole? Smyrna is a great place to live and I think it can get better and better! Its the people that make Smyrna-Tennessees Town
