The purpose of philosophy is to help ourselves, not others. - TopicsExpress

The purpose of philosophy is to help ourselves, not others. Whatever good or bad happen to others, if you dont love them, why should it matter to you? But if you know that the ultimate beneficiary of having a loving attitude in life is you. If you know that only by loving you can be happy and overcome all kinds of obstacle, then this philosphy start to make sense. You stop pretending to do good feeling that you have somehow sacrifice yourself and need to compensate yourself in other sense. Because love itself is your power and reward. It is like the mother, bathe in love, feel no need for other reward but willingly give herself, because love fills her more than any material reward can. It is like the writer, who of passion writes, no matter whether he will be paid or not, ridiculed or not, praised or not. It is like the dancer who dance out of passion and the worker who works out of passion. Without love, nothing works out well, you may have money or what but you will only feel sadder as time goes by. Such people are unconscious of the boundless universal conscious, they are unconscious of their power even as it lays hidden in them and seek instead external satisfaction, they are fearful, just like the beggar who, forgetful of the jewel sewn into his cloth, goes around begging.
