There are other types of drums/music that are played during some traditional festivals in Igbajo.There is this Kaginikoko played by the Olosun from Ile-Akinfin during Osun festival.It is a two-sided drum like Bembe but smaller in size.Infact I started my druming with this drum bcos I used to follow my granny who was from Ile-Akinfin to celebrate the yearly Osun festival where we will eat the Akara and all assorted meats meant for the Iya-Osun.The most commonlly use in the town of the types of Drums/Music is the Aje and Agogo played by every household in the town by all the married women to each house-hold.The Aje and Sekere Music is mostly played during burial ceremony of an elderly ones.It has a lead singer accompanied by like 4 Sekeres and one or 2Agogos.The lead-singer introduces the group to the audience thru song like../Oruko meta o nile e wa n je/Ile Lagbaa/Ile e Lade/Ile Akano ti Lemikan o.The songs are render according to the prevailing situation in the town or at party.They may be abusive e.g/Akoko looro o ko ni gbayi o/Apegan oko ko ni rabuba/It can be used to expose criminals in d town.I remember when Esu-Iloro was stolen from the town,the popular song at the time was/Esu iloro alakori ti gbelo/Names were even mentioned but we need to preserve the identity of the family here.The composition was originally done by baba Ogunlade and his Apala Group who was popular with his type of Apala music in the town then.Another Apala muscian was Adepoju Atanda and his Apala group from Ile Odofin Ketuopo.They are both dead.Do you know that Prophet Olajiire Akanni of K&S church Aye toro Igbajo was once a popular Sakara muscian based in Ibadan? He used to have his weekly gigs at Gbajumo Hotel,Ode-Oolo,Inalende Ibadan before he finally came back to Igbajo to settle as a man of God.He waxed many records.I remember d one he did for d Loga-Ibadan../Awon omo Igbajo n dabira nIbadan o e/Nipa ise pako Igbajo gba foositi Oluwu lo pon won le/won rero elegberun apo ...
