Tip for arthritis sufferers: Limit if not avoid inflammatory foods such as processed/refined foods including white flour and sugar, caffeine, red meat, gluten and dairy. Be cautious of the nightshade vegetables which contain solanine and can affect some people. Eat more sulfur-containing foods such as asparagus (in season now! woop!), eggs, garlic and onions. Sulfur is needed for the repair and rebuilding of bone, cartilage and connective tissue and it aids in the absorption of calcium. Be sure to also include fresh veggies especially green leafy veg., fruit, whole grains, brown rice, wild fish and avocados.
