To my committed conservative and liberal facebook friends, I dont like it when either side tries to denigrate the other side. I just read one of those FB posts that got me a little hot under the collar. I guess Id prefer leaving the posturing to the politicians and for ordinary people like us to actually hold an intelligent conversation... ok, Im asking for too much. Anyway it prompts me to make a non-partisan response. US voters are pretty evenly divided on most major issues. Thats usually why they are major issues. If you dont understand why the other side holds their position, you dont understand the issue. If you think it is obvious their stance is wrong, once again you really dont understand the issue. Yes, their plans and proposals could use a few small but important tweaks, but so could yours. When you throw explicit or implicit barbs at people with other opinions, try to remember you are friends with some of them. ... Really, you are. I feel better now.
