Today our baby GIRL is 35 weeks and 2 days old! Only 33 days to go.... Only 6 days until our next scan!! FIRST let me set the record straight- WE DID NOT HAVE THE BABY!! Hehe! The plastic, lifeless child you saw on your newsfeeds with simply a doll! Apparently I gave some people heart attacks with the announcement of the doll we used in class, so I apologise! I though the hard, pretend head gave it away?? LOL! Sorry guys! Remember, youll all know when we are in labor so there will be no surprise announcements! Class last night was great though- but first let me back track! The weekend was great as we got SO much done! For those that didnt see our VLOG you wont know of the cleaning, nesting, frenzy we went on! CHels helped, but let me assure you she did nothing strenuous and used no chemicals! She basically dusted and hosed down windows and cobwebs outside! I took on the bulk of the job and got SO much done! Kitchen benches, oven, cook top, rangehood, bathroom, bedroom, nursery, vacuuming, mopping, skirting boards, walls- EVERYTHING is scrubbed and cleaned! I doubt it will ever be this clean again! Three hours of hard work but it was worth it! I also washed and vacuumed my car! See, Ill still find things to prepare! LOL! Just because everything is bought doesnt mean I cant continue to nest! Hehehe! We also had the carpets steam cleaned so they are now a clean slate for all the projectile vomits and leaking poo explosions to come! Fun times! They look great though and I hope you dont mind me posting pics yesterday! Who knew having a baby would make you get off your arse and do things you should have done years ago!! LOVE IT!! Someone ELSE exciting that happened over the weekend is that CHels had her first Braxton Hicks!! I probably shouldnt have, but I couldnt stop smiling! Prepare body, prepare! She wasnt in pain which was good, but there were several intense moments of pressure and tightening of her belly which made it rock hard!! Then it would ease, only to come back later! It was really interesting actually, knowing that Chelseas body is getting ready for the BIG event! She handled it like a trooper and showed no fear! Still, there was no pain involved!! Phew! But ANYWAY, we had our LAST class last night! Yes, were now on our own until the birth! Well, not true- we still see the GP, but as far as childbirth education is concerned, school is OUT! It was a great class actually! We got given our children at the start of the class, and it was hilarious actually as no one ever put them down for the full 2.5hours! There were a few that picked them up by the head which was a worry, or dangled them by their arms, but still, the kids joined in with all that was covered! We also went on to talk about everything that happens once bubs in born- what to expect from our hospital stay....well, Chelseas stay rather- I keep forgetting I cant stay! Boo! Dont worry, Ill find a cupboard to hide in and come out in regular secret internals! LOL! Its not the first time Ive come out of the closet....Hehehe! There was LOTS of info on what to expect with breastfeeding and support after discharge! SIDS was also talked about, as was PND! One thing I didnt particularly like was the one sided view on breastfeeding! Now, Im not bringing this up for debate (please!!), but there was a constant focus on breastfeeding and nothing else was mentioned! I think because everyone in class said they wanted to breastfeed, that we only focused on persevering with that, and no other alternative! Still, So many things can compromise breastfeeding, and I couldnt help but think that anyone who for some reason CANT breastfeed will feel some sense of guilt after the one sided focus in the class! The word formula was never mentioned! I also couldnt help but think about when it comes time for me to carry our second child and that Ill be on medication and wont have the privilege to breastfeed! There are SO many things that prevent woman from taking that route, even just personal preference, but these were left to the side! Again, theres no need for comments on what is best- thats not why Im bringing it up and that will INEVITABLY cause opposing tensions between followers! No one wants that, especially me! I just wish a broader spectrum was present! We look forward to Chels trying to breastfeed and give bubs that opportunity, but time will tell what the reality is! Were prepared for whatever the situation turns out to be! But all in all the class ran really well! Poor Chels struggled towards the end though! She indulged in some of the cake that the midwife bought and suddenly heartburn set in in full swing! Not to mention she has a terrible pain in the top of her backside! She squirms in pain sometimes and it appears to be muscular! Yes, her body is REALLY starting to feel it!! Only 6 days until our next scan which Im DYING to have!! This week cant go quick enough! Next Monday is the day at 8:30am! First thing! Perfect! Lets hope my cheeky daughter refrains from face planting into her placenta again! COME ON GOOD 3D shot!! I wonder if shes still traveling in the 90-95th percentile! I wonder if her hair has grown! Hehe! Ahhh, such a cutie!! Well, this has been a longy so Ill wrap it up, but we will be getting on to filming our Whats in my hospital bag and Whats in babys hospital bag videos this week!! It will be fun to share everything with you! Not like we dont already!! Hehe! For all those new followers, just be grateful were not in the trying to conceive days still! THe sperm and cervical mucus talk was INTENSE!! Remember that, old friends?? Hehe! Dont worry, theyll be back eventually! Then you can hear all about my CM! The joys!! LOL! Wishing everyone a glorious day! Back to my Ninja Turtles today, where the action is always ON!! I love it and Im going to miss them when I dont see them each week! Still, nothing will compare to my daughter! I can hardly wait!! Much Love friends xx
