Today was my last day on active duty in the U.S. Army. I thought - TopicsExpress

Today was my last day on active duty in the U.S. Army. I thought it to be appropriate to spend it at the World Trade Center memorial. I can not express the amount of empathy I have for the families of the fallen. I am filled with many conflicting emotions however one stands above all others. Love. I love my country because of countless men and women who stand for what is right and bleed to keep those stripes red. I love my country for its people. I speak about the countless helping hands that break social, cultural, and economic boundaries. The brave and the broken. I think of my brothers who I fought with and those who died every day. For some time I have felt disillusioned since returning from war. New York City has given me back a portion of the pride and fortitude I once had. I am forever grateful and in your debt. For all who have fought in anyway for justice and freedom, present and past you are not forgotten. I love New York. I love the United States of America. UNITED WE STAND!
