Tough Love When other types of love are not received, and are - TopicsExpress

Tough Love When other types of love are not received, and are therefore not working, then if we truly care about others, the Tough Love approach must be applied. Other Kinds of Love Tender Love Hear me, O Lord, for Your lovingkindness is good; Turn to me according to the multitude of Your tender mercies (Psalm, 69:16). Gods Love is not only tough, but it is very tender as well. He cares and understands and is deeply touched with His knowledge and feelings regarding our many struggles and infirmities. The Lords mercy and grace, are naturally extended to all people, in all places at all times. We are to do as God has said and done in His word; Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you (Ephesians, 4:32). Trustworthy Love The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying ; “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you (Jeremiah, 31:3). Today, we are lacking when it comes to dependable and trustworthy love. Disloyalty in the work place, in government, in our schools, and everywhere else we look, is desperately and obviously lacking. And sadly when loyalty, fidelity and trust begin lacking within the marriage relationship, then the divorce rate is driven up, which hurts God terribly, as well as all those involved; the married couple, their children, family members and friends as well. We, like our Heavenly Father, should be steadfast and dependable also loving in deed and truth. (John, 13:18). Triumphant Love Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away (1 Corinthians, 13:8). Before we are to successfully emulate Gods triumphant love, we must first possess His love. And to do that, we must totally commit ourselves to Him, and be filled with His love. Gods love is triumphant, because God Himself, is love. (1 John, 4:8 and 16) The greatest of these is love (! Corinthians, 13:13). Now, Back to Tough Love And, have you forgotten the encouraging words God spoke to you as His children? He said; “My child, don’t make light of the Lord’s discipline, and don’t give up when He corrects you For the Lord disciplines those He loves, and He punishes each one He accepts as His child” (Hebrews, 12:5-6). So like our Lord, when all the other godly forms of love seem to fail, sometimes we must administer His Tough love on those within our homes, as well as those within the body of Christ. Tough Love, when necessary is another way of courageously displaying the loving firmness of Gods love for others. Tough Love is to be Used only when all other forms of Gods love have been resisted.
