UPDATE: Today Dad pulled out his feeding tube (placed in his nostril and leads to the stomach). He didnt have the mitts on because he has been more mentally alert. If he keeps doing this they will need to restrain him by tying his wrists to the bed. We cant have him pulling any lines out, but especially the feeding tube because that could lead to pneumonia, which his body cant tolerate right now. Unfortunately this is common with strokes in the frontal lobe (Dad has 2 in there). This is the behavior center of the brain and he may have difficulties with mood regulation. He can be easily agitated and will have difficulty soothing himself. There will be some days when this isnt an issue and some when it is a major issue. On a better note they mechanically lifted him to a chair again and he sat up again some today.
