Urgent Prayer Request. Our brother Archie will be having surgery today around 3:00 on his lungs. This is a very serious surgery. 1 year ago he had surgery to remove the top part of one lung from disease and then weeks later the lung collapsed. Then another surgery to remove the top part of the second lung due to disease of the Alpha 1 Gene disease. He was on oxygen and doing so much better. About a month ago the pain in the lung area was totally unbearable in the cavity area of the collapsed lung. He has been back in the hospital a week now and doctors say there is infection in the empty lung cavity and the collapsed lung is stuck to the wall like a deflated balloon. They will do surgery today to hopefully remove the collapsed lung and remove the infection. The doctors state they have never seen anything like this before. The doctors have had a very hard time locating the hole where the leak is where air and fluid is coming into the deflated lung cavity. Archie is in good spirits and thanks the Lord for what He has brought him through. He is praying going through all of this it will relieve the horrible pain he has been in. He is praising the Lord he has had a chance to witness to the team of surgeons and nurses through out this past week. The recovery on this type surgery is not so pleasant and is very drawn out. Please pray for Archie and Cheryl as they go through this trying time. We are so thankful they have a wonderful church and church family to visit and check on them.
