VOTING = SHIRK AKBAR The elections are a mechanism to choose a representative, in order to participate in a legislative body in a non-Muslim country amongst the disbelievers in order to legislate law; this is in contradiction with the Islamic rules. Muslims must know that if they are to maintain their Islam. They cannot participate in the election and must not participate in any form of kufr such as voting for a person who wants to go to elections as to participate in the legislative body under the pretext of his ‘good intention. Allah (swt) ordered us to reject all taghoot, he ordered us to first reject all gods when we say ‘laa ilaaha … (there is none worthy to be worshipped, obeyed or followed … then we affirm our belief in Allah (swt) by saying, illallah (except Allah). Allah (swt) says, Whoever rejects taghoot, then believes in Allah has grasped al urwatul withqa (i.e. the Kalima laa ilaaha illallah). [EMQ 2: 256] We cannot be Muwahhid if we do not know what taghoot is in the first place let alone if we do not reject it. Allah (swt) says, Be aware about laa ilaaha illallah. [EMQ 47: 19] Taghoot is anything that is worshipped, followed, obeyed or submitted other than Allah. Clearly choosing a system other than that of Allahs Deen is taghoot such as voting for the kufr system. Allah (swt) says, Allah is the one to judge and no-one can dare to comment over His hukm. [Rad: 41] There is a principle in Islam that, Anything that differs with Islam is kufr, and anything that reconciles with Islam is kufr. Whenever you vote for a kufr system, it means you have indeed prefer the shariah of the kafir over the Shariah of Allah(swt) and this is one of the negation of Islam which expels you outside the fold of Islam, hence making you a disbeliever. Man made law is the Taghoot that people follow and obey instead of Allah. Anyone who goes to parliament is going to consent to and refer to Al-Taghoot even if they claim to disagree with it. Part of rejecting the taghoot is to keep distance from it, not to co-operate nor refer to it at all, Allah (swt) says, … worship Allah and keep distant from Taghoot. Ruling and arbitration belong to Allah (swt) only. No one else has a share in it. Allah (swt) has forbidden the Muslims to live under the rules of Kufr or any other rule than Islam: Allah(swt) says Have you seen those (hypocrites) who claim that they believe in that which has been sent down to you, and that which was sent down before you, and they wish to go for ruling to the Taghoot (anything other than Islam) while they have been ordered to reject them. But Satan wishes to lead them far astray. [TMQ 4:60]. Also, ‘And whosoever does not rule by what Allah (swt) has revealed, such are the Kafirun (disbelievers). [TMQ 5:44] It is agreed upon unanimously by all Muslims that Islam is the only solution, not only to the problems of the Muslim Ummah but to the problems of the world. The Muslims also agree upon that Islam must be established through the methodology of the Prophet (saw). Allah (swt) stated clearly that it is forbidden for the Muslims to be under the authority of the Kuffar: And never will Allah grant to the disbelievers a way (to triumph) over the believers. [TMQ 4:141]. Then how is it possible that Muslims are prepared to be ruled other than Allahs Law. How are they going to defend themselves on that day where they, alone will stand in front of their creator who commanded them to follow his laws only but instead they had chosen to follow the law of the Taghoot. How dare the Muslims prefer the Law of the kuffar to that of Allahs. Have these Muslims lost their trust in Allah today? There are so many other evidences from the Quran which oblige the Muslims to obey none but Allah. For E.g.: ‘And so rule between them by what Allah has revealed, and follow not their vain desires... [TMQ 5:49]. The command (or the ruling) is for none but Allah. [TMQ 12:40] Voting for a system base on kufr or for someone who is not going to implement an Islamic system will lead to a situation which Islam prohibits. Thus, this action of voting becomes prohibited. Obeying Allah (swt) means to submit to His Laws in their totality. The concept of participating in Kufr systems succeeds only in containing Islam within the circle of Kufr, whereas Allah (swt) revealed Islam to be the supreme system for all humanity. Allah (swt) says in the Quran regarding the issue of seeking protection or help from the Kuffar: 0 you who believe! Take not as (your) Bitanah (advisors, consultants, protectors, helpers, etc.) those outside your religion since they will not fail to do their best to corrupt you, they desire to harm you severely. [TMQ 3:118] Those who take disbelievers for Auliya (protectors, helpers, friends) instead of believers, do they seek honour, power and glory with them? Verily, then to Allah belongs all honour, power and glory. [TMQ 4:139]. Then how come the Muslims are prepared to declare with their action of voting that they are prepared to follow the deen of the kafir, declaring that they are willing to be ruled by the kafir law. Declaring I want Kafir law! Why are they so willing to declare that they love the kafir regime? They believe that by submitting to kuffar law rather than to struggle to establish Allah deen is the better option. If this is not Apostasy that what is this then? Clearly we see how Allah has forbidden us to live under the law of the kuffar. If we insist of doing so then be prepared to meet Allah with a severe punishment. Furthermore, Samara bin Jundub narrates, Allahs Messenger (saw) said, Anybody (from among the Muslims) who meets, gathers together, lives, and stays with a Mushrik and agrees to his ways, opinions, etc., and enjoys his living with him (the Mushrik), then he (that Muslim) is like him (Mushrik) [Abu Dawud]. So why are the Muslims so blind in falling into the trap of the tawagheet which is inviting them to a major Shirk. Open your eyes O Muslims. You were born Muslims. Die only as a Muslims. Do not die in a state of kufr. Put your trust in the kufr System today and declare kufr in Allahs revelation thus you will be declaring war on Allah by rejecting his Shariah. The Muslims are forbidden to take the disbelievers as political allies. Some may attempt to justify their stance by claiming that they are under duress or their situation demands that there are no other options. Such justifications have no validity because the basis for determining how the Muslims should act is the Akham Shariyah, and such a basis is independent of the circumstances. Those who take Islam in fragments must ask themselves: Do they believe in Islam as the solution or not? Believing in Islam means taking all of Islam, not parts of it. By default, the Muslims must submit to all the Islamic rules and must believe that all the rules of Allah (swt) are applicable and relevant. Those who justify such actions as gradual or partial implementation of Islam should first understand Allahs stance towards this issue and towards those who condone it: Then do you believe in a part of the Scripture and reject the rest? Then what is the recompense of those who do so among you except disgrace in the life of this world, and on the Day of Resurrection they shall be consigned to the most grievous torment. [TMQ 2:85] Undoubtedly voting for a kufr system is taghoot and we have to reject it. We have the Islamic System and the kufr system. You have to choose which system you are prepared to submit, follow and obey. But remember what Allah says And whoever seeks a Deen other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers. [TMQ 3:85] - meaning if we seek to submit, follow, obey or worship a system or a way of life other than Islam, it will never be accepted by Allah. We will be rejected in this life and in the Hereafter. Allah (swt) says: ‘Is it the judgment/ legislation of the Jaahiliyyah (Days of Ignorance) that they seek? And who is better in legislation than Allah for a people who are certain?! [TMQ 5:50] In the light of the above, we conclude that to believe in Allah, first we have to reject Taghoot. Whoever rejects taghoot, and then believes in Allah has grasped al urwatul withqa (i.e. the Kalima laa ilaaha illallah). [EMQ 2: 256]. Without rejecting Taghoot first we cannot claim to have believed in Allah. We cannot believe in Taghoot and believe in Allah at the same time. This will nullify our Tauheed . So when we take the initiative to put our trust in a Kufr regime, to submit, to follow and to obey it, then be prepared to wake up like them on the day of Judgement. Remember:The rule (or the judgment) is for none but Allah. He has commanded that you worship none but Him, that is the (true) straight Deen (way of life), but most men know not. [TMQ 12:40].
