WHAT GOD WANTS YOU LEARN. Psalm 18:19 He also brought me out - TopicsExpress

WHAT GOD WANTS YOU LEARN. Psalm 18:19 He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He delighted in me. When Satan first came to Eve to tempt her to disobey God, he came with a suggestion that he still tries to use on us today. He tried to tell her that God was holding out on her; that He was not giving her the best. He made her think that God was a mean old man who kept the best things for Himself. That lie is still going around in the earth today. Just talk to any unbeliever about God and you will hear them come up with all sorts of arguments, like why God allows pain and suffering, and why He allows poverty and destruction. People never seem to grasp that God created all the good things that they enjoy in life. They always seem to think that God doesnt want us to enjoy life. Unfortunately it is not only the unbelievers who think this way. Even the Christians have been hoodwinked into believing that to be a Christian means you have to suffer and go without. You are not supposed to enjoy the good things of life, and you are to humbly accept as Gods will for you, all the bad things that come your way. Just ask most believers if they believe that God wants to provide for them and they will quickly tell you that God will meet your needs, but He wont give you things that you dont need. In other words, Hes not going to give you a raise in pay, just so that you can go on a spending spree. Hell give you what you need for food and clothing, and thats enough. But David was a man after Gods heart, and he knew more about what God is like than a lot of Christians today. He said that the Lord put him in a broad place. Not a poky little broken down shack, but a broad place. And what was the reason He did this? What was His ulterior motive? What was the purpose behind it? It was quite simple really. Because He delighted in him! Usually when you delight in someone you try to give them not only the best, but even beyond what they desire. Why not change your picture of God? He is not withholding anything from you! It is your limited thinking that is stopping Him from giving you the wonderful things He has for you.
