Wednesday, February 5, at 7:00 pm Temple Isaiah of Stony Brook is welcoming Shahar Azani, Spokesman,Consul of Media Affairs, Consulate General of Israel “A dynamic look beyond the headlines” We are honored to be hosting Mr. Shahar Azani from the Israeli Consulate in NY. He will share his perspective on a range of topics including the recent “deal” between the U.S. and Iran and his personal experiences being an Israeli Diplomat. Shahar Azani is the Consul for Media Affairs at the Consulate General of Israel in New York. He assumed the position in September of 2011, and has since been responsible for maintaining direct contact with American media in the tri-state area. Prior to joining the Consulate in New York, Consul Azani served as Deputy Spokesperson at Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Israel’s Consul for Culture, Media and Public Affairs in Los Angeles, California; and Deputy Ambassador at the Embassy of the State of Israel in Nairobi, Kenya. Consul Azani began working in the Foreign Ministry in 1998, where he served as Assistant Spokesperson at the Embassy of Israel in London and in 2002, he spent a year at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Legal Division’s Department for International Agreements and Treaties. Before joining the School of Diplomacy in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Consul Azani practiced Law at Haim Zadok and Company, based in Tel Aviv.
