Week Ahead Monday to Friday of next week Monday: A mostly dry but cloudy day with southerly winds. Winds will be fresh gusting to around 19mph so feeling chilly if exposed to the winds. Top temperature of 7 degrees feeling more like 4 degrees. Tuesday: Another dry day looks set for the SW and the winds swing round to a more SW direction but again a lot of cloud about but hopeful for some sunny spells to break through by the afternoon. Winds also lighter compared to Monday at around 7 to 10mph Feeling slightly warmer as well with a top temperature of 11 degrees feeling like 8 degrees in the breeze. Wednesday: Early Weather Watch for the potential for strong to gale force winds to affect the SW. The day will start off calm and mostly dry but again a lot of cloud about. Some sunny spells should break through come the afternoon. Winds will start off at around 7mph but slowly increasing as we move through the day. By around 15:00 we could be looking at gusts reaching 30mph. By 18:00 increasing to around 35mph. Between 18:00 and midnight gusts up to 50mph is possible but not guaranteed at this stage and we are watching developments closely. Rain also looks set to push into the far SW from around 17:00 spreading to all areas throughout the evening. Top temperature of 8 degrees. Thursday: The mIn rain band should have cleared Cornwall and Devon by dawn (subject to change) and by late morning from rest of the SW. Winds will remain gusty between 20 and 30mph and signs are for the wind direction to change from a SW to a NW by late afternoon so colder air once again filters in. Temperatures start off at around 8 degrees falling to 4 degrees feeling more like 0 to -1 degrees by nightfall. Friday: Winds once again look set to change from a N-NW to a W -NW direction and falling lighter compared to the last couple of days to around 13mph. Temperatures will creep up a little to around 7 degrees before more rain pushes in later during the day. Thanks very much Dean
